• Southeastern delays: Rush hour misery for commuters after train hits tree on course

    Commuters have been hit by rush hour misery this morning after a train struck a tree in south-east London.



    Southeastern has apologised to travellers if you do services were cancelled due to the obstruction about the Hayes to Charing Cross route.

    The incident has sparked disruption on the busy commuter route and triggered anger as some trains missed stops in the bid to prevent further chaos.



    Isobel McGeever tweeted: “Love it when @Se_Railway cancel the Hayes train so I'm late in my first day of work.



    While another wrote: “I've just moved & started getting this train. Out of 6 mornings,my train has operate on time twice. No excuse for such a poor service



    One man posted: “Demand on #Hayes line is ever increasing but offering continues to be the same. PLEASE review the frequency/length of such trains.”

    Elsewhere, commuters to Liverpool Street also face difficulties as overrun engineering work near Gidea Park caused delays on trains from Shenfield.



    TfL rail stated it on its site that services could be cancelled or delayed by up to Twenty minutes with disruption set to last until 2pm.



    Trains from London Liverpool Street towards Shenfield have are not calling at Brentwood and Harold Wood, it added.

    When I originally commented I clicked the "Notify me when new comments are added" checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several emails
